We have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer with up to 5 years of experience to join our Victorian Operating Centre in the Traralgon office.

What does the job involve?

Under the supervision of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will be primarily responsible for: 

• Site investigations, natural and man-made slope stability analyses, earthworks, pavement and foundation design, and landslide risk assessments.
• Provision of support for the open cut mines including inspections, batter design and performance assessment across the existing Latrobe Valley mines.
• Undertaking other geotechnical engineering civil and development projects, analyses, design and reporting of a technical nature.
• Planning and coordination of resources to implement programs and meet project deadlines within budget.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Mining Group and other skill groups within the Traralgon Office and other GHD offices.
• Exposure to assistance with specific Gippsland based projects and opportunities.
• Business development in the core geotechnical activities.

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking individuals who have completed their Civil Engineering degree with, ideally 1 to 5 years’ experience with an interest in geotechnical engineering. Exposure to Open Cut mining would be advantageous. In addition, you will be self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and you will thrive in a team environment.
