Hatch's Smart Industries team offers a wide range of technology-related services and solutions to support our industrial minerals and mining clients on the path towards digital transformation. This includes the Digital Systems team, which designs, develops, deploys and maintains applications and solutions that are innovative, high-quality and cost-effective.
The successful Graduate Control Systems Engineer applicant will join the integrated controls team located in Perth, Western Australia. The integrated controls team utilises knowledge, processes, technology and products to achieve robust, optimised, intelligent solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work effectively in a team creating advanced control system solutions, e.g., automation of heavy equipment and machinery for the mining industry
- Industrial controller systems design and programming
- Computer and database centric software engineering including application and user interface development
- Analyse requirements, and with appropriate guidance and collaborative discussion, engineer robust solutions
- Provide control systems support for critical site operations
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications satisfying Engineers Australia Professional Engineer Membership status (Graduate or Member), e.g., electrical, electronic, software, mechatronic engineering.
An ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong desire to develop robust differentiated solutions involving programmable controllers, computing systems and applications
- A willingness to travel to sites (including overseas) for extended periods
- The ability to interactively communicate salient aspects of ideas and activities with team
- Ability to self-manage, competently apply guidelines and follow through until completion
- An enjoyment of problem solving and attention to relevant detail
- Enhancement of own ability through broad self-learning and applying knowledge

- Some industry experience (up to 2 years)
