This role will be responsible for the provision of rotating equipment mechanical engineering support to the QCLNG Plant.  

You will need to be able to  provide engineering support for the gas turbines, refrigerant centrifugal compressors and other rotating equipment as part of the LNG Operations Engineering team responsible for the engineering and integrity of all rotating equipment.   

The engineering team is responsible for ensuring all physical plant and equipment is reliable, compliant, well maintained and safe. 
You will be involved with  the team to support production and manage Shell processes and Reliability improvement programs of the plant and equipment.

  • Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
  • Responsible for managing the integrity of the LNG plant through maintenance, inspection and engineering change control;
  • Ensure ongoing engineering compliance (e.g., statutory requirements, JV requirements, permits, legislative approvals) for the LNG plant;
  • RPEQ and Technical Authority TA3 certified is preferred.
  • Responsible for the provision of engineering support as priority on an as needed basis to operations, maintenance and overhaul and management of critical documentation;
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting Asset Integrity compliance;
  • Responsible for ensuring all modifications follow the Management of Change process;
  • Contributing to the strategies for managing risk based maintenance including condition monitoring programs;
  • Responsible for preparing the scopes of work for minor/medium CAPEX/OPEX work sufficient to enable cost estimates to be prepared.

Tertiary mechanical or controls engineering qualification and relevant  experience associated with this type of role, typically in operational engineering support role .   
 
Fully conversant with Australian Codes and Standards, API and other internationally recognised Codes and Standards.  You should have a deep understanding of Rotating equipment operations and maintenance experience. Specific experience with LNG plant Rotating equipment and the control systems will be an added advantage.
 
Leading the management of rotating equipment assets and making critical technical decisions and have familiarity with GE LM2500 fleet of engines with exposure to mechanical as well engine control systems typically Mark Vie and HIMA.  Familiarity with CCC anti-surge protection systems.
 
Good management and supervisory skills will be expected along with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other core business areas to provide an engineering service that ensures asset integrity and longevity of plant & equipment.
 
This role is based on Curtis Island, near Gladstone working on a 5/2 shift basis.
