The role
We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer with TUFLOW experience to work closely with our other specialists in the WR team to deliver major infrastructure projects within NSW.
With a minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience in delivering flood modelling across large infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in the technical delivery of various infrastructure and water projects.
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Some of your core responsibilities include:
- Conduct flood studies and assessments including the impact of flood mitigation options.
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling using TUFLOW and WBNM.
- Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.
- Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables.
- Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard in a timely manner.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering
- Experience of delivering technical projects within a consultancy environment both in a Design and Project management capacity.
- Experienced with a range of modelling software including TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RAFTS and WBNM.
- Prior experience working in a similar role within the infrastructure space.
- Excellent report writing skills.
