QSM Fabrication
We are leading sheetmetal and fabrication workshop that delivers custom products and services to a variety of industires, mainly to the mining sector. We also deal with city councils for art works, residential projects, and metal bending and rolling.
About the role
As a Design Drafter your key objectives is to use solidworks to produce sheetmetal and weldment models, and shop drawings for our workshop. Creating models for new products or using customer drawings to provide further detail to our team. Developing flat patterns for sheet metal and creating DXF files for laser cutters would be a day to day activity.
About You & Experience
Ideally we are seeking a candidate with the following attributes:
- Highly experienced using Solidworks Sheetmetal and Weldments with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
- Draftsight or other 2d sofware experience.
- Manufacturing background in the metal fabrication industry.
- Experience with FEA would be advantageous.
- Strong Communications skills both written and verbal, and the ability to listen to client instructions.
- You will need to have a willingness to learn, be inquisitive and have exceptional attention to detail.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Concept models and drawings for quoting.
- Liaise with customer and offer solutions to their needs.
- Site measurements.
- Help project managers and trades persons with layouts, and bending profiles.
- Using Solidworks to model sheetmetal and weldments.
- Shop drawings for our fabrication workshop.
