Position summary

We are looking for a ‘Technology R&D Engineer’ (Chemical) to participate in technology improvement, new technology research and integration of company’s proprietary technology with conventional and new third-party step processes into comprehensive water treatment concepts.

This is a key role working closely with the companies Executive Technical Director and Technology Development Manager.

You will be leveraging your depth of knowledge in chemical engineering and industry experience to the development of new technologies and improvement of water treatment processes.
 

Specific responsibilities:
 

• Provide draft process concept and draft design for water treatment process research and experimental stand design. Detailed design of experimental stands will be produced by mechanical and automation engineers.
• Conduct research on experimental stands according to research plans, make observations, record data, analyse data and produce internal reports.
• Produce process data, process block diagrams and equipment fluid diagrams to be used by product development team for design of new and improved water treatment plants.
• Be able to understand and interpret the water quality parameters, water analyses.
• Provide water samples testing for process development and be able to perform basic water analyses when needed.
• Perform water treatment demonstrations when needed.
• Participate in the development of pilot field testing plans, support setup of pilot field testing plants.
• Participate in the monitoring and optimization of processes during pilot field testing of water treatment plants.
• Produce testing plans and participate in performance evaluation of water treatment plant prototypes.
• Participate in the definition of plans for technology evaluation and performance validation by third parties as needed.
• Participate in the projects for water treatment plant, product certification co-ordinated by certifying agencies.
• Act as the technical interface between the Technology R&D team and Product Development/Project team.

Required skills & experience:

• Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering.
• Masters / PHD preferable 
• Work experience in chemical laboratory environment.
• Strong understanding of water / wastewater processes and technologies
• Experience with software for assessment of state and changes of water solutions, desirable.
• Skilled in common software for office work and basic project management.
• Good communication and stakeholder relationship management
• A proven team player who operates collaboratively
