Electrical Systems Integration Engineer

Contract Length: 6 months

Our client, a large technology, engineering, and manufacturing organisation with global operations, is currently engaged in a large Sydney based project and now requires an electrical systems integration engineer to support this project.
 
Main tasks will include:

• Ensuring there are no gaps in the interfaces between switchgear, protection, and civils. There will be subject matter experts for each of these disciplines however the integration engineer is responsible to liaise with each expert and plug any gaps that may be present
• Develop cable block diagrams, cable sizing and cable schedules
• Constructability review (e.g. check cable penetration locations, bending radius, etc.)
• Design review – checking my client’s and sub-supplier drawing
• Lead technical discussions with my client’s internal personnel, sub-suppliers and the customer

Skills and experience required: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
• Performing and co-ordinating project design and systems integration
• Project engineering and commissioning
• Ability to prioritise work taking into account a complex matrix of inputs
• Knowledge of relevant Australian and International Design and Electrical standards 
• Understanding of Primary and Secondary Electrical networks with particular focus on substation and switchroom electrical systems
• Knowledge and understanding of Switchgear, Protection and Control Systems, UPS, DC battery systems, SCADA and communications
