Precision Buses has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer with at least 1+ year work experience to join our team in a permanent capacity. 

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing processes that assist in the manufacturing of buses.  As well as developing these processes, you will be responsible for auditing, compliance of these processes and reporting of findings to senior management.  As the Engineer responsible for Standardised work generation, you will be responsible for ensuring that production is receiving the necessary information to build buses, whilst meeting the quality expectations of our customers.  Through the implementation of CIP process you will assist in reducing production cycle time whilst improving quality of the product.

The Role:

  • Develop and distribute Standardised Work Instructions (SWI) for current and new models
  • Own, develop and maintain process flow for current and new model builds
  • Designate manning assignments for shop floor
  • Perform process audits against SWI, generating conformance reports and tracking
  • Perform 5S compliance audits, generating conformance reports and tracking
  • Participate and contribute to continuous improvements initiatives to reduce production cycle time and improve vehicle quality
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout

About you

Precision Buses is looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Manufacturing Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 1 years’ experience drawn from a similar role
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive and mechanical engineering principles
  • Ability to prioritise, successfully manage multiple tasks
  • “Hands on” approach, effective communicator
