Capability Development Project Manager

 

Northrop Grumman Australia – Technology Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Australia Pty Ltd and is dedicated to providing aircraft maintenance services predominantly to the Defence Sector.

 

NGA TS specialises in deeper level maintenance, repair and modification of our customers' aircraft. NGA TS is responsible for support of Defence and Civil aircraft in the areas of Airframe, Engine, Avionics and Component Maintenance, including aircraft modification and upgrade. Comprehensive engineering, logistics and warehouse services are also maintained to fully support these aircraft maintenance programs.

 

NGA TS are seeking a highly motivated and professional Capability Development Project Manager.

 

The KC-30A Capability Development Team (CAPDEV) is responsible for implementing Capability Development Projects in support of the KC-30A platform. The CAPDEV Team manages a diverse range of projects varying in size and complexity. A CAPDEV Project Manager (PM) is accountable and responsible for the Project Management and overall successful delivery of their assigned projects. The PM will effectively manage their resources to ensure all of their projects are executed within scope, schedule and budget, and meet all customer, supplier and NGA-TS outcomes.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Ensuring that projects deliver required outcomes within scope, schedule, budget and quality.
  • Ensuring that projects have a clear resource plan.
  • Ensuring that all project risks, constraints, strengths and weaknesses are identified and adequately communicated and managed as required during all project phases.
  • Oversight of all assigned projects ensuring that each project from inception to completion and through to close out, has all progress, deliverables and budgets tracked and recorded (if required), to ensure that the projects meet all expected outcomes.
  • Provide clear and concise communications across the organisation as required to ensure all management, functional and other team members are aligned with the project requirements.
  • Ensure that projects deliver operational results that meet the corporate and customer requirements, and adhere at all times with the policy, procedures and processes as endorsed by the business and customer.
  • Ensuring at all times that projects will deliver results that aligned with the Customer expectations and are executable by the NGA-TS business.
  • Developing solutions that provide the best possible Value for Money (VFM).
  • Development of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the team and/or program.
  • Project management support and guidance to program functional areas.

 

Qualifications and experience required:

 

  • Recognised qualifications in Project Management
  • Proven experience in leadership, the supervision of resources, projects and the setting of priorities.
  • Exceptionally robust oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player, with ability to work as part of a larger group or independently.
  • Experience in using the Microsoft suite of applications and in particular, MS Project.
  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience as a Project Manager with a fully proven ability to deliver and manage multiple projects simultaneously (desired).
  • Experience in delivering new aircraft capabilities within the Defence Capability Development framework (desired)
  • At least 5 years in Defence related Project Management activities (desired)
