Job description:
We are currently looking for an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our Sydney Steel Mill in Rooty Hill. Reporting to the Environment Superintendent, you will be responsible for the implementation of strategies to maintain environmental compliance in a cost effective and practical manner. This includes working with industry bodies and building relationships to influence regulators to promote Liberty OneSteel’s best interests and outcomes. You will also guide the lead team in environmental governance.
As an experienced environmental professional you will enjoy the technical and professional satisfaction and the autonomy that the role offers. Our ideal candidate will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as (environmental science, chemical engineering, etc.) with significant experience in a similar technical role, ideally gained within a heavy industrial environment. You will be a highly organised, self-starting and self-driven professional who is a proven problem solver, able to influence others on the way to achieving sustainable outcomes. Your demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data, accompanied by a high standard of technical writing skills will be well regarded. Your ability to work within a team of likeminded professionals whilst maintaining a strong commitment to safety will be keys to your success.
