Weir Minerals Australia Ltd, a member of the Weir Group PLC, is the Australasian distributor for the After Market Supply and Servicing of the GEHO® Positive Displacement Pumps throughout the Australasian/Asia region these pumps are used in mineral processing, mining, power and water treatment amongst other industrial applications.  

We currently have a vacancy for an GEHO® Product Support Engineer This position is based in Somersby NSW or depending on experience other locations. The position will start as office based position and then evolve to a more customer facing role.

The position is responsible for developing, maintaining and maximising relationships with our aftermarket customers of GEHO®. Some domestic and international travel is a fundamental component to being successful in this position. The successful applicant would report to the Regional GEHO®  Product Manager based in Somersby NSW .

Some duties include:

  • Building and maintaining long term relationships with end users of GEHO® pumps
  • Providing feedback to the needs in service and support of these end users
  • Follow up of customer requests and complaints until full resolution
  • Composition and management of after market sales budgets in consultation with the Regional GEHO®  Product  Manager
  • Build relationships with our supplier of spares and technical support Weir Minerals Netherlands.
  • Initiating, managing and maintaining spares and service agreements.
  • Providing technical recommendations and upgrade support to customers.
  • Handle spares parts technical enquiries and pricing and working closely with the Customer Support Team on technical issues
  • SAP and CRM usage

The person we are seeking will have experience in the mining industry and ideally tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering while relevant trade background progressing to an associate diploma would be expected but not essential. Cultural awareness, patience, communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to work within a team environment are key attributes which are required in order to succeed in this position.  The individual must be adept at building and supporting strong customer relationships, which are critical to our success in this market.

The successful applicant will need to develop relationships with clients and work associates. The nature of the role requires good time management skills and attention to detail.
