The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Asset & Infrastructure Management (AIM) Division in Fremantle. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, proactive and motivated individual to lead our Electrical team to deliver excellent asset management, electrical engineering, and project and contract management services, to realise Fremantle Ports’ business goals.


Key Duties

  • Actively contribute to the ongoing development and achievement of Fremantle Ports’ and AIM’s strategic goals, including the development of a high-performance culture at a team, branch, divisional and organisational level;
  • Lead the development and successful implementation of the Electrical Asset Management branch plan, in alignment with the business and divisional plans. Develop and control capital and maintenance strategies, including the preparation of plans and budgets;
  • Provide technical and strategic support to the General Manager AIM and Manager Civil, Electrical and Marine Assets on all issues pertaining to electrical engineering and asset management;
  • Ensure that Fremantle Ports’ electrical assets comply with all statutory technical and safety codes, regulations, codes of practice and other relevant requirements;
  • Ensure that safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective operational and maintenance procedures are implemented and maintained with respect to Fremantle Ports’ HV and LV electrical assets;
  • Provide sound technical advice, liaison and support on issues related to HV and LV electrical engineering design, project scopes, schedules and estimates, as required for the maintenance and planning of current and future port assets;
  • Manage Fremantle Ports’ electricity sales agreement and the supply of electricity to tenants and other port users.

Essential Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will be a qualified Electrical Engineer with demonstrated experience in asset management practices, ideally with respect to the management of electrical assets. Given this is a leadership role, strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and implement a strategic plan aligned to the divisional and business strategy are essential.
