Imagine designing and implementing programs that will keep our roads safer. As a Senior Road Network Optimisation Engineer for Transurban you’ll have the opportunity to develop stakeholder management frameworks that will assist in more effective road network management. You’ll also help strengthen our roadside incident response capabilities and optimise traffic for Victorian roads with the analysis you conduct.

The impact you’ll have:

• First and foremost, you will be responsible for identifying road network areas for improvements on and around the asset for the purposes of optimising traffic and incident response capabilities
• You’ll work with traffic modelling and digital delivery / analytics teams to obtain a deep understanding of issues / trends on CityLink and the wider network
• Adept at influencing and gaining buy in, you’ll evaluate and select the appropriate frameworks to manage, improve and future proof our networks
• You’ll provide technical expertise to senior leaders and specialists in the development of and implementation of tools / stakeholder management framework that will assist in more effective network management with respect to roadworks to reduce road user impacts
• The analysis you do and improvements you make will have a direct impact on the safety of Victorian road users
• You’ll explain the meaning behind the data and influence stakeholders with the analysis you do
• As a senior member of the team, you will act as a mentor and leader to the rest of the Network Performance team

The talents you’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience and success in a comparable position within traffic engineering, transport planning and/or road safety experience
• A wealth of technical knowledge in traffic engineering or similar, coupled with a relevant degree qualification
• Naturally, you’ll possess a strong understanding of traffic management solutions, either in design or operations context
• You’ll bring an analytical mindset; excited by the challenge of solving problems as you go.
• The ability to provide expert technical and thought leadership in the Network Performance domain
• Ability to articulate ideas, approach, concepts, options, risks, and impacts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Highly organised and methodical approach, coupled with project management exposure
