About the role
It’s an exciting time in the BMC’s South Walker Creek Mine Site where we are on a continuous improvement journey, and as such we have a permanent position available for a Structural Engineer to join our onsite Engineering Team. Reporting to the Superintendent Governance & Technical Stewardship, this permanent high profile opportunity will see you responsible for supporting structural engineering activities across BMC’s South Walker Creek mine.

You will be responsible for the management of the site structural governance program through audits, action planning, ensuring that appropriate inspections and audits are occurring to relevant internal and statutory standards, managing the structural blue print and management of change process for the site, identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and providing input in to the site Operating and Capital budgets.
You will be capable of working effectively with a variety of stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for the business. You will benefit from the diverse and highly visible nature of the work you undertake.

About you
You will be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
Your previous background in governance and engineering will see you well placed for the challenges of this role. As the successful applicant, you will have: 

• Tertiary qualifications in structural engineering and demonstrated experience working in similar roles;
• An understanding of risk management, structural auditing processes and experience in undertaking appropriate actions based on audit findings;
• Well-developed communication skills and an ability to work with various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and
• Strong MS Office skills.
