The New Opportunity:

The Lead Electrical Engineer will be the primary source of expertise regarding electronics and electrical systems for JAR Aerospace’s UAS products. The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for applying extensive experience in a range of systems, avionics, electrical and electronic engineering activities, across projects spanning planning, design, architecture, estimation, production, procurement, qualification and testing. 
You will lead the Electrical Engineering team for control systems development and collaborate with the Lead Aerospace Engineer for electrical systems integration.

Prime Responsibilities for this position:

·         Managing the Electrical Engineering team.

·         Project management including managing and liaising with sub-contractors.

·         Developing and implementing design processes for electrical systems, electronic components and power systems.

·         Design and prototyping of PCBs and electronic components.

·         Integration of electronic and communications (RF communications) technologies into JAR’s systems.

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

We are seeking a passionate Electrical Engineer with a drive for innovation, a flare to push creative boundaries, and initiative. Your enthusiasm and willingness will be paramount to your success as your role requires you to have a pro-active and hard-working mentality to develop cutting edge technology. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

To be successful you must have:

·         Tertiary Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in UAS or a related field.

·         Experience with Aerospace, Defence or complex project environments.

·         Extensive experience in system integration, testing and evaluation of electrical/electronic systems for UAS.

·         Competent with computer aided design (CAD) software for electronics and PCB design (e.g. Altium). 3D modelling experience for mechanical design is not essential, but will be beneficial.

·         Experience in integrating electronic support and communications technologies.

·         Minimum of 2 years’ project management experience, including sub-contractor management.

·         Minimum of 12 - 18 months’ people management experience as a supervisor or manager.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
