Randstad are working exclusively with a power engineering consultancy that pride themselves on delivering quality projects across Australia. We are currently advertising an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Secondary Electrical Engineer to join this national consultancy. This group provides specialist services across the generation, transmission and distribution space for power utilities, local government authorities, construction and other industries.

The business will become a key player in the SA Market, delivering Distribution and Transmission assets, projects include greenfield and brownfield substations. The role will focus on the design of major distribution and sub-transmission projects in accordance with Utility standard for various engineering project. This opportunity is ideal for a vibrant and motivated candidate with experience in substation secondary design and commissioning. Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Support substation secondary system design & commissioning;
• Lead and direct project and commissioning teams;
• Produce and/or review of protection settings and protection relay configuration files;
• Prepare test plans for relay Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT);
• Perform and/or supervise FAT and SAT activities;
• Tendering and preparation of secondary system design/ commissioning proposals;
• QA of commissioning documentation produced by the team;
• Communicating with clients and contractors as part of tendering and ongoing projects;
• Develop relationships with key clients and provide business development support as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
• Minimum 5 years related experience;
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the necessary Australian Standards relating to HV substation design and commissioning;
• Experience working with Power Utilities;
• Demonstrated experience in design and commissioning of IEC61850 protection schemes
• Demonstrated experience working for South Australian projects would be advantageous;
• Experience in managing commissioning teams;
• Experience in primary and secondary substation design - 11kV to 330kV;
• Knowledge of protection schemes and IEC61850;
• Knowledge of secondary plant technologies and equipment;
• Knowledge of testing and commissioning;
• Motivated team player with the ability to work autonomously;
• Highly developed leadership and communication skills;
• Australian Resident
