Contract opportunity for a Development Engineer with a Local Government Council on the southside.

Your new company
This local government organisation is committed to improving South East Queensland through assessing and approving developments that will benefit the wider community.

Your new role

• Process and assess development applications to meet statutory time frames, review engineering reports and engineering drawings for roadworks, stormwater drainage, sewer and water reticulation systems and ensure that documentation is complete and correct.
• Organise and undertake site inspections of development work.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to Council for development applications.
• Negotiate with developers and consultants on engineering related matters, resolve engineering issues which arise during construction, and promptly bring to the developer’s attention for rectification.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualified Civil Engineer.
• Specific design expertise in stormwater civil engineering that incorporates detention and bio basins is essential.
• High level writing and presentation skills.
• Work knowledge of Queensland Local Government relevant legislative requirements.
• Sound knowledge and experience using Computer Aided Design, drainage design packages and Microsoft Office software.
