Cougar Drilling – part of the Cougar Mining Group, works in the coal fields of Queensland and New South Wales. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to work at underground mine sites, primarily in the Hunter Valley, but available to work, from time to time, at underground mine sites on the NSW South Coast and Queensland. The successful candidate is required to work harmoniously with a drill crew and will be required to work as a Driller's Offsider when not carrying out duties as a service/breakdown Fitter.

Essential

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as Mechanical Fitter
• Certificate IV Hydraulics
• Ability to interpret and work from complex hydraulic schematics for the purpose of fault-finding and maintenance.
• Current Driver's License
• Relatively fit and able to pass a Queensland and NSW Coal Board Medical and functional assessment
• Excellent safety record
• Strong communication skills;
  • Accurate and timely verbal and written reporting skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a focus on productivity
  • Ability to liaise with client supervisory and mechanical staff 

Desirable

• Current inductions at Queensland and/or New South Wales underground coal mines
• Appointments to operate underground Man-transporters and Loaders
• Experience working on Drill Rigs

Hours of Work

Cougar Drilling is a contracting company, supplying services to the underground coal industries of Queensland and New South Wales.

Applicants must be willing to travel and work according to our contractual obligations and the mine roster.

Applicants must be willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

Remuneration

You will be a wage-based employee, paid weekly.

Rate of pay is very competitive.
