An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, enthusiastic professional to join our team as our Engineering Services Manager.

The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for managing engineering support for day-to-day operations of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility including the management and oversight of activities relating to engineering and validation, including calibration and preventative maintenance. The incumbent is expected to initiate and drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Functional and hands-on leadership of staff
  • Engineering, Preventative Maintenance, Validation and Calibration to meet regulatory and IDT quality requirements
  • Scheduling and completing activities to support production outcomes
  • Development and implementation of the validation of software controlled systems including SAP, process control and monitoring.
  • Achieving process operational reliability through the application of condition based maintenance regimes.
  • Seek opportunities to develop existing operations to optimise cost and production efficiency.
  • Providing oversight for the cleaning & sanitation team
  • Providing oversight for the site security systems

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 6+ years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a manufacturing environment including cleaning validation, process validation, equipment qualification
  • Knowledge of cGMP and previous exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, sound decision making skills, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and computer literacy.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Lean Sigma principles highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong listening skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written procedures and standards governing manufacturing processes.
  • The successful candidate must be physically able to climb stairs, use hands to manipulate basic hand tools/hand held equipment, and operate a motor vehicle to access various plant locations.
