The Role

As the Water Asset Engineer you will deliver Asset Management outcomes for the group of assets related to Melbourne Water’s water supply transfer and corrosion assets and to provide engineering support and advice across the business related to the discipline.

We aim to make roles flexible, and whilst roles are advertised as fulltime we will consider requests for flexible work arrangements, including part time and job share.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Developed and demonstrated knowledge of engineering related to water supply assets including but not limited to pipelines, tanks, dams, service reservoirs, aqueducts, tunnels and weirs or similar infrastructure
  • Fundamental knowledge related to transfer pipelines, tanks, service basins and corrosion prevention assets
  • Knowledge and interest in the application of general asset management processes and risk assessment techniques.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operational complexities of water supply systems or similar.  
  • Ability to critically explore and analyse solution options and associated financials (eg NPV, construction estimates)
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritise and perform complex professional/technical work with general supervision only

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a qualification in Civil, Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
