Randstad have been engaged by a multi-disciplined civil and mining construction company who focus on large scale projects in main roads, infrastructure, utilities and resources work. They have identified the need for a Planner /Scheduler to come on board on a contract basis within the telecommunications team.

Reporting to the Project Manager duties will include:

• Monitor actual progress, compare to baseline and report progress against schedule
• Develop robust construction schedules and provide analysis and estimates based on schedule optimisation
• Maintain project budgets/estimates in the job tracking system
• Prepare detailed project plans for projects that accurately reflect the conditions of the contract, design and specifications
• Provide variance reporting and assist in developing corrective actions
• Control schedule changes and forecast the impacts on schedule of proposed changes
• Develop and manage the resource schedule to ensure appropriate coordination and scheduling of resources across multiple projects

To be considered for this position we are seeking the following skills and experience:

• Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction or other relevant qualifications
• Display advanced software skills with Primavera (P6 user)
• Exhibit an understanding of analysing project schedules and identify problem areas and possible solutions
• Ability to work autonomously and use initiative to complete tasks and goals using a common sense approach
• Previous successful project planning experience within the Civil market
• Ability to progress and implement end-to-end planning
• Ideally a Telecommunication background - not essential
• Excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail
