Our client is a boutique client side project and construction management consultancy who provide independent and professional services for property and infrastructure projects. They are looking for an experienced Site Based Environmental Manager to join their innovative and client focussed team.
Offering and end to end consulting, PM and advisory service to their clients, they have a diverse project portfolio spanning commercial buildings, industrial, retail, education, aged care, hotels and infrastructure.
As the Site Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all environmental plans and procedures are carried out to meet the requirements of all compliance requirements, policies and objectives.
On the $1.5bn infrastructure project, there are packages of work from $50m to $150m encompassing roads, earthworks, utilities, industrial buildings, rail, drainage, services etc. and is a landmark Sydney project!
Reporting to a Director you will be responsible for managing head contractor environmental representatives across a large program of works valued up to around $300m with multiple construction packages (from $50m - $100m each).
To be successful in this role, you will be a self starter who can work with minimal supervision and can build strong and effective relationships with a diverse group of both internal and external stakeholders. Experience on rail, roads, airports, seaports or large civil projects will also be favourable.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification ideally in Environmental Science, Town Planning or Environmental Law
- Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience working on civil infrastructure projects delivering as an Environmental Manager
- Can come from either Consultancy or Contractor background (Tier 1 or 2 contractor)
- Detailed knowledge of environmental legal requirements and standards
- Risk assessment and management knowledge and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
