The Project

Ventia is one of the largest providers of road network, motorway and tunnel operations and maintenance services in Australasia.  Our integrated transport services support our clients with reliable and safe journey management, meaning safety and efficiency for the driving public.  This is an exciting opportunity to join our team if you’re someone with skills in and the management of road maintenance and road improvement projects. 

About the role

Reporting to the Transport Regional Manager (West), you will be responsible for developing, managing and maintaining key relationships with our key client Main Roads Western Australia ensuring successful delivery of contractual targets and obligations.  This is a permanent role and based in Port Headland.  Ventia has recently secured the five year Rural Network Contract to deliver road maintenance and minor capital works for Main Roads, Western Australia (WA). 

Being an integral part of the WA leadership team, you will also manage ongoing commercial and accounts reporting and outcomes and will provide direct support to the business unit as required. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of the Pilbara RNC project team
  • Manage the delivery of all services within the Pilbara RNC contract including road maintenance, emergency response and road improvement projects (MCWs).
  • Establish and maintain strong win/win relationships with Main Roads both in region and within their wider corporate team
  • Manage compliance to all contract and Ventia activities with the appropriate regulatory and governance requirements
  • Undertake project reviews to ensure effective performance against SHEQ, commercial, KPI, people and business development targets and expectations
  • Provide detailed / accurate management reporting (commercial and project) and participating in the monthly project review process
  • Lead the identification and realisation of business development and growth opportunities outside of the Pilbara RNC contract.

About you

To be successful in this busy and challenging role, you will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Degree in business or relevant degree
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, maintenance/construction and contract management within infrastructure services
  • Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively with clients, supply chain and the wider Ventia team
  • Confident negotiating and influencing desired outcomes
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Be pragmatic, solutions oriented and pragmatic in your approach in the workplace
