We are looking for an Occupational Health, Safety  & Environmental Officer to join our existing team and manage a wide variety of civil projects in Metropolitan Melbourne including:  road infrastructure, bridges, civil commercial, water infrastructure, earthworks, drainage & services.

Your Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Officer who takes ownership of his work sites and is extremely passionate about Health & Safety in the workplace.  You will be familiar with how civil projects are built and will have the vision to identify and assess potential risks to Health and Safety and make recommendations to the Supervisors, Engineers and all site personnel in order to keep your teams safe with a Zero Harm Policy.

You will have a very diverse portfolio of projects to help manage which will ensure that you have experience in all areas of civil construction projects on your resume.  You will report to the Safety Manager and Construction Manager and have the full support of the Project Managers, a team of Engineers and the Supervisors to ensure that you have all of the adequate office support in order to help transmit your safety message to your work crews.

Full OHS and Environmental Systems, Policies, Procedures and Protocol are all in place, you just need to be the advocate for them and a reminder to all site crews that Safety truly does come first.

Duties Include:

• Use the site induction and toolbox meetings to promote and communicate best practice health and safety management

• Undertake all inspections with supervisors

• Employ a total Safety Management policy with all stakeholders

• Effective communication & correspondence ability

Ideal applicants will be tertiary qualified with a minimum of Cert III or a Diploma in OH&S.
