Construction Programmer - Privately Owned National Tier 2 Builder

HRS is currently recruiting an Experienced Construction Programmer for their client a Privately owned National Tier 2 Builder. This client is located in all states in Australia and have a few locations in QLD. They have been successfully operating across the country for over 40 years. They have solid relationships across a number of sectors including commercial, health, retail and industrial. Due to existing long term relationships and outstanding results for their clients they average around 80% of the work is repeat clients and predominately design and construct. 

The Opportunity

The opportunity exists for an experienced construction programmer to join the QLD business basing themselves in the Brisbane office. This role will support the teams in QLD and work in conjunction with the programmers in each state. You will work with the pre-construction manager, construction manager and teams to take control of the construction programs for projects up to $80mil.


Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and assessing detailed project plans and programs for all project stages
• Developing methodology for timing and sequencing of works
• Monitoring and updating project schedules, milestones and completion timetables
• Providing advice and guidance on program implementation
• Conducting status checks on progress of works against program and preparing regular status reports and forecasts
• Assisting project teams in developing short and medium range programs
• Identifying and communicating critical path tasks

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science
• 5-10 years' experience working as a Programmer 
• Strong working knowledge of construction processes, including working to programs, reading drawings and commissioning
• Strong technical knowledge of all services trades including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and ICT
• Demonstrated experience in a project controls role
• Proven ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with key stakeholders
• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
