The Company

PLOT works are a local South Australian landscape construction and civil company. We pride ourselves in our ability to deliver projects to our clients who mostly include local council and government. We specialise in large scale landscaping works and civil construction in the civic, commercial, hospitality, education and health sectors.  Services we offer include; urban renewal, bulk earthworks, detailed excavation, demolition, stormwater, pipe laying and drainage, concrete works, retaining, paving, lawns, hydro seeding, revegetation, mass planting and irrigation. The Role

This is a pivotal leadership role that sits on the Executive leadership team and reports directly to the General Manager. The core function of the role is to oversee and facilitate the operations of the organisation, to profitably and efficiently meet the  demands of the company. The role interacts with most positions in the company with a number of direct reports; including Project Managers, Project Supervisors, Contracts Administrator and Administration staff.

The scope of this role is varied and includes but is not limited to the following:

• Consulting with the Managing Director to ensure strategies are in place to have resources (manpower, equipment, systems and procedures) appropriate to meet the company's projected turnover;
• Chairing/driving regular meetings with Project Managers to ensure that their assigned projects are on schedule for site delivery;
• Liaising with the Project Supervisors, monitoring the supply demands for each project.
• Identifying any problems in meeting deadlines and taking the necessary remedial action and reporting to the General Manager as required;
• Managing and liaising with major sub-contractors and suppliers to facilitate the timely execution of their responsibilities;
• Reporting to the General Manager on a weekly basis on the status of projects, problems encountered and remedial action proposed;
• Evaluating the profitability of contracts in conjunction with Contract Administrators, Estimators and Projects Managers
• Coordinating and scheduling staff and machinery.
• Reviewing staff pay rates in relation to skills, experience and qualifications. Conducting periodical performance reviews and reporting. Managing staff training and development.
• Assisting in the management, implementation and improvement of our Quality, OHS and Environmental Management Systems

We are seeking an excellent and highly communicative leader who has proven experience refining and managing the operations of an organisation across multiple divisions within the construction industry.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience in implementing initiatives that drive the efficiency and effectiveness of output and bringing a team on board to make positive change within a complex environment.
