Located in Beard ACT, Simeonov Civil Engineering is a civil infrastructure construction company that has been operating in Canberra since 1997. Contracts range from $20K through to $2M, with the average project size around $300K. They undertake contracts for both government and private clients and currently have 3 fulltime management/admin staff and 9 field staff.
They currently have a vacancy for an experienced Site Engineer/Construction Administrator, which will commence in late July 2018. This position could potentially suit a more mature candidate that is not looking to climb the corporate ladder but be content with working in a smaller company with a team of passionate and dedicated individuals. You will need proven site experience in a similar role, with the motivation to contribute to the team.
Duties:
- Preparation of tenders & sourcing quotations
- Preparation/implementation of project plans, including revisions
- Attend meetings with authorities and stakeholders
- Arrange engagement of sub-contractors and all procurement
- Calculating and checking quantities off design drawings
- Maintaining of registers of equipment
- Document control
- General project and contract administration tasks as required
- Undertaking field inspections for safety and quality requirement
- Assisting in auditing of safety and quality system
Skills & Experience:
- At least 4 years’ industry experience
- Formal qualifications would be desirable but not essential
- Proven experience in similar role
- Excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience in tender preparation
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team while managing multiple and diverse tasks
- Can-do attitude with the ability to be proactive
- Computer literate (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project)
