Due to continued growth with key clients we are looking to engage an experienced Senior Contract Administrator / Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team within our national water utilities business unit.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will deal with all aspects of our metropolitan water framework program of works in Brisbane, key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Understanding of all aspects of the construction and utilities contracts and determining key areas of financial risk
  • Cost control management
  • Review, negotiation and finalisation of subcontracts
  • Management of client and subcontractor claims, including payment, variations & EOT claims
  • Liaising closely with the Operations Manager, National Program Manager, Project Managers and the wider project teams
  • Ensuring monthly financial reporting requirements are met based on disciplined forecasting and tracking of revenue and costs
  • General commercial administration and document control
  • Leading and mentoring a team of contract administrators

Previous exposure to utilities infrastructure construction and maintenance programs of work would be an advantage but is not essential.

YOU WILL NEED

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills/experience:

  • A good working knowledge of forms of contract currently used within the construction/utilities industry.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar field (preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrated experience in a Contract Administration or Quantity Surveying role on multiple civil construction, infrastructure projects.
  • Advanced IT skills (including MS Excel and Word)
  • A high level of personal motivation and commercial acumen
  • Effective communication & negotiation skills
  • Experience with JDE will be an advantage, but is not essential
