THE PROJECT
The $1.6 billion Toowoomba Second Range Crossing is a 41km heavy vehicle route jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments on an 80:20 funding split arrangement.
Nexus Delivery is a joint venture between Acciona and Ferrovial Agroman, established to design and construct the TSRC. The route is designed to increase freight efficiency and significantly improve driver safety and community amenity by removing heavy vehicles from Toowoomba’s CBD.
THE ROLE
Nexus Delivery is currently seeking experienced Pavements Leading Hands and Foreman to join our Pavements team.
Our Pavements Leading Hands and Foreman are responsible for the supervision and coordination of onsite construction activities, directing project personnel, plant resources and sub contract teams. The successful candidates will ensure the prescribed pavements work on the TSRC project is delivered to the required quality and safety standards and within the set timeframes and budget.
The duties for this position will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all Pavements works undertaken and completed are in conformance with the relevant specifications, standards and Code of Practice.
- Ensure all Pavements works meet the required quality of work standards.
- Manage the actions required under Hold and Witness Points and ensure these are completed prior to commencement of works.
- Manage all outstanding defects and ensure these are completed within set time frames.
- Ensure all reports, records, timesheets and invoices are approved by the relevant authorities.
- Drive subcontractors with positive leadership whilst monitoring and providing guidance on their performance to ensure the quality and standard of workmanship is delivered.
The standard hours of work for these positions is Monday to Saturday; 6:30am to 5:30pm.
THE PERSON
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position within the large civil construction environment;
- Previous experience in the asphalt industry will be highly regarded;
- Experience working with Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) specifications;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Commitment to fostering the safety culture on site towards safety and a zero-harm attitude towards safety.
