You will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons. This role requires a dynamic mind eager and willing to absorb our intricate line of work and all that it entails.

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare the work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Identify labour, material, and time frames by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Compute costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements.
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
• Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and market trends.
• Maintains technical knowledge by reviewing technical publications.
• Contribute to team meetings by proactively approaching opportunities
• Investigate and resolve complex issues associated with estimating.
• Identify and manage networks and alliances with both clients and colleagues
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers etc.)
• Understanding the project/program and its requirements down to the finest detail
• Gather first-hand information as and when required.
• Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc 

Estimator Skills and Qualifications

• Analysing Information , Estimating, Planning, Reporting Research Results, Strategic Planning, Attention to Detail, Informing Others, Requirements Analysis. Memorising the Australian standards, state standards and individual council standards.
• Linemarking experience a strong advantage
• SAP experience an advantage
• Proven experience as estimator or similar position is paramount
• Familiarity with financial and project management principles
• In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
• Superior math and IT ability with an analytical mindset
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
• Must be extremely thorough and reliable
• Excellent organizational skills

Report/s required:

• Monthly – Reporting the value of quoted works, value of won works, future quotations and their deadlines including upcoming contracts with time frames.  

This role reports to the General Manager.
