Turnkey Group is a successful multi-disciplinary industrial engineering, construction and maintenance business employing over 150 engineers and tradesman.  We have been operating for over 30 years and recently had a change of ownership and management which has significantly altered the direction and trajectory of the company. We specialise in Industrial Maintenance service agreements to a diverse market place including (but not limited to) Manufacturing and Processing, Water and Power industries. Contract values can range from $5k in to the hundreds of thousands and depending on the level of prospect the sales cycle can either be short and transactional or long and complex.

About the Position

As part of our ongoing growth strategy, a new opportunity presents for a dynamic and Safety and Quality professional to join our team. You will report to the General Manager of Operations and work closely with other operations managers to manage, monitor, coordinate and assist the organisation with all Health, Safety and Quality matters. You will actively work on and develop our injury prevention programs and ensure the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations are met. 

The role combines the best of hands-on safety management with a strategic and operational focus and are a fantastic opportunity for a safety professional early in their career who is looking to work for a flexible and progressive industry leader.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out inductions
  • Undertake risk assessments, SWMS, audits and incident investigations
  • Carry out inspections
  • Tool box talks
  • Educate and communicate best HSEQ practices to staff, contractors and subcontractors
  • Develop and facilitate training relevant to HSEQ
  • Liaise with management and clients on tender submissions
  • Take responsibility for ISO 9001 certification

Your Background

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Safety Coordinator, Officer or Advisor within Manufacturing, construction or similar heavy industry
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent tertiary qualifications;
  • Sound understanding of the relevant legislative and regulatory framework;
  • Strong work ethic and a passion for safety;
  • Ability to effectively partner with key stakeholders and influence positive HSEQ outcomes;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and strong computer and MS office skills
  • Drivers License
