We are currently seeking an Infrastructure Resource Manager for work on our Level Crossing Removal Project. This large-scale project will benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers by improving safety, reducing congestion and enabling more frequent train services.

In this role, you will oversee and provide direction to a team of infrastructure resources that are dedicated to working on MTM Projects. 

Accountabilities:

• In conjunction with project teams and planning resources, monitor future infrastructure resource requirements and plan allocations accordingly, ensuring that resource planning is accurate and achievable.
• Manage Industrial Relations issues within the team in conjunction with MTM’s Workplace Relations team
• Develop key resource schedules with alliances during project development phases
• Manage all financial requirements back into each alliance
• Monitor resource recruitment plans and participate in the recruitment of staff where needed
• Develop a continuous improvement approach for work methods, allocations and planning.
• Ensure that required training and development is completed so employees maintain appropriate competency.
• Build and manage budget for works to be completed.
• Provide leadership with regard to safety and ensure leaders are modelling appropriate safety behaviours.
• Provide regular reports on delivery progress to leadership team members.

To be successful in the role, your previous experience will include:

• Qualifications in business, management or similar will be considered favourably. 
• Extensive background in the delivery of rail infrastructure works, including project and maintenance works.
• Understanding of relevant industrial relations law and the ability to interpret and advise on EBA provisions.
• Excellent planning skills including the ability to prepare long term workload forecasts and plan resource allocation accordingly.
• Good understanding of the various disciplines within the dedicated infrastructure team including signalling, overheads and track.
• In-depth understanding of the rail network, MTM’s role as rail operator, rail access & occupation requirements.
• Demonstrated track record of building a safety culture and developing and adhering to safety guidelines and principles.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to provide direction and coaching to a broad range of individuals.
• Ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders with MTM and across industry.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively engage and collaborate with people at all organisational levels.
• Strong resilience in handling a range of issues within a challenging environment.
