Our client is a key local government authority that delivers a number of major civil infrastructure projects within the inner suburbs of Melbourne. They have recently gone through a re-structure and have the need to appoint a new Project Manager to help them to deliver a wide variety of civil and landscape projects up to $5.7 million in value.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced local government authority, and deliver a diverse range of high profile and challenging projects that impact significantly on the local community.
Responsibilities:
As the Civil Project Manager, you will be providing project management expertise on a range of different projects across landscape, infrastructure and major/minor capital works.
These mentioned projects include feasibility and planning, managing stakeholder relationships as well as budget and performance reporting. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide technical design input into the creation of efficient, sustainable buildings, which meet the life-cycle requirements of the Property Framework.
In addition, you will be:
- Delivering end-to-end building capital work projects to the value of $50M
- Producing detailed reports and reviewing documentation
- Planning, procurement and tendering
- Risk and defect management
- Budgeting and financial management
- Ongoing community consultation
Key Experience:
- Demonstrated experience of project managing minor and/or major capital works across a varied asset portfolio
- Managing Capital Works projects from design to hand-over
- Excellent written reporting skills - the ability to independently put together complex reporting documents relating to project budget, delivery etc.
- The ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders with varying degrees of technical understanding
- High-level verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple clients is essential
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, architecture, building OR Project Management -Construction- or similar coupled with relevant industry experience
- Government, Local Council or client side experience is requested for these positions
