The Opportunity

Our client is an industry leader within the heavy and steel fabrication industry, working across the design, fabrication, installation and construction processes.
Our client primarily services the mining, oil and gas and construction sectors nationwide, working projects ranging anywhere from $1m-$15m.

As a result of a recent influx of work, our client is actively seeking a Project Manager to work across their new and upcoming projects. 

In this role, you will be accountable for;

• Regularly interacting with clients and relative stakeholders, upholding effective relationships
• Working in conjunction with the Workshop Manager to ensure all steel is fabricated correctly and in coherence to all Australian standards
• Updating clients with project timelines and progress
• Liaising and managing sub-contractors who are involved in the installation process or similarly effectively managing a on-site team throughout the installation process
• Ensuring projects are completed within the agreed timeline and budget
• Managing the contract and being responsible for all cost control components of the project

To be successful in this role, you must have;

• A strong heavy fabrication background, 5 years' minimum experience in a Project Manager role
• A sound understanding of the steel fabrication process, strong industry knowledge is vital
• A commercial focus, experience in client and contract management 
• Engineering background is ideal, however a Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction or any Fabrication related degree is essential
• Strong organisational skills, the ability to multi-task
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• A strong work ethic, pro-active attitude and ability to use initiative
