Ideal Stone commenced business over 10 years ago and in that time has grown to become one of the leading SA stone benchtop companies. Located near the city at Forestville, Ideal Stone manufactures kitchen benchtops, vanity tops, commercial counters / bars etc in engineered stone products such as Caesarstone, Essastone and natural stones such as granite and marble. Ideal Stone services a wide range of domestic, commercial and renovation customers with state-of- the-art Intermac CNC's and a Burkhardt high production bridge saw. An opportunity has become available for a full-time estimator reporting to the directors.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Must be able to read and understand architectural drawings.
• Able to interpret joinery / kitchen drawings
• Joinery / Cabinetmaking background preferred or building experience.
• Understand and adhere to strict time lines associated with commercial tendering.
• Able to liaise with the appropriate people / suppliers associated with the particular tender.
• Includes both domestic and commercial tenders
• Ability to use Excel
• Support the production process
• Some Admin support and Customer Service and Showroom duties
The successful applicant will have:
Ability to read and understand plans and drawings
Accurate keyboard skills, logical thinker and able to work well under pressure
Self motivated and able to work independently with excellent time management
and problem solving skills
Have an understanding and empathy towards customers and fellow work colleagues
Ability to cope with change and technology improvements
Desirable skills are - Cabinetmaking or kitchen manufacturing experience
This position would also suit a person with relevant Cabinetmaking or joinery experience that is looking to move into a estimating role.
