Virginia Building Supplies is a family owned business which is situated on the North Side of Brisbane and we have been supplying the greater Brisbane area with Hardware, Building Products, Structural Timbers and Manufacturing Roof Trusses, Pre-Nail Wall Frames since 1991.

Our focus at Virginia Building Supplies is service for our customers. We are a growing business with firm and serious plans for expansion in the coming 12-18 months. We are seeking a staff/team member that is looking for and wants a long-term career.

The position is for an Administrative/Internal Sales Person, to join our Hardware/Building Supply Division. This role involves Administration, Internal Sales, Timber/ Hardware Estimating, Purchasing, Coordinating Deliveries of Building Materials and assisting in all customers enquiries both on phone and in person for all our Trade and Retail customers.  This is a hands-on role which requires an energetic, motivated person who can work in a fast-paced energetic environment.

You will be the pivotal point between our clients and suppliers to ensure that orders are delivered efficiently to our customers. You will need to be a hardworking, motivated person with a strong hardware/buildings industry knowledge and an attention to detail is fundamental to this position.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience and competence in Estimating, Purchasing and Internal Sales of building/hardware materials.
• Recent experience within the Building, Construction or Manufacturing sectors will be HIGHLY REGARDED  
• Experience working on a trade counter/hardware would be desirable.  
• Experience in phones Sales for both Trade and Retail customers would be desirable.
• Excellent client relationship management skills with a strong emphasis on customer service.
• Good numerical/math abilities are essential.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated, committed, team focused and reliable - we want someone for the long-term
• Proven ability to take ownership of the job and tasks, with demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
