Building Surveyor (Certifier) - Melbourne
Certis VIC is growing and therefore an opportunity exists for the right person to join our team of Building Surveyors.
Certis is a well-recognised, national certification company that has a solid history spanning over 18 years. We have a long list of returning clients and a growing list of new clients. Our work includes projects in all states covering the full spectrum of commercial construction ranging from landmark developments to small tenancy fitouts across all classes of building.
Certis is seeking a motivated and experienced commercial building certifier or a bright & enthusiastic trainee to join our team in Melbourne. Certis’ reputation has been built on years of consistently delivering 'solution focused thinking' for our client's projects.
Duties will include;
- Assessment and certification of design documents for building projects;
- Inspection of buildings under construction to ensure compliance with the relevant building legislation;
- Assessment and inspection report writing;
- Manage and deliver a broad range of consultancy services to our clients;.
- Undertake existing building audits for general compliance, due diligence, fire safety and essential services.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Currently accredited as a Registered Building Surveyor (unlimited), or hold the necessary qualification to achieve this, or studying an approved course for accreditation.
- Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Construction Code and the relevant Planning Legislation;
- Ability to effectively negotiate and resolve disputes;
- Strong ability to write readable, coherent and technically sound reports;
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills;
- Exceptional customer service, networking and marketing skills:
- Valid VIC drivers licence.
