Assistant Estimator Roles & Responsibilities 

Assisting our Estimating team, Lanyonscapes has an exciting opportunity within our fast growing business awaiting the right candidate. We are seeking an Assistant Estimator who is a fast learner and possess job coordination skills to provide crucial support to our teams ensuring they meet all the clients’ expectations.

Reporting to the Senior Estimator and Project Controls Coordinator you will be supporting our operational teams.

Experience in the horticulture/landscaping, civil construction sector or field service based industry is desirable. A keen self-starter with the ability to juggle requests and prioritise workloads, along with your outstanding attention to detail, proven adaptability and flexibility will ensure success in the role.

Job Description  

  • Environmental, horticulture or landscaping experience will be an advantage.
  • Must be willing to undertake estimating training
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite of Office software usage
  • Attention to detail with initiative
  • A strong team focus
  • Strong operator system skills; policies, procedures, maintenance etc. 
  • Must have experience in a small office environment - everyone pitches in to get the job completed on time
  • Ability to converse at a mature level with a wide variety of client personalities
  • A self-starter who will sometimes be in the office alone
  • A business development mindset would be advantageous
  • Excellent phone skills and client relationship development

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Undertake all Estimating and other duties as required.
  • Coordination and maintenance of our quoting process and project controls onboarding procedures
  • Establish and initiate project KPI’s
  • Provide reporting documentation as required
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Believe in and follow the practices of our procedures, controls and measures in place to ensure that data entry is of the highest standard and effectively and accurately matches the works that have been approved.
  • Streamline all operating procedures so that all jobs run smoothly from start to finish
  • Provide a solutions, orientated approach to issues and proactively develop process improvement opportunities
  • Be able to re-prioritize, reassign, and monitor any situations to a satisfactory completion
  • Manage client escalations and requests for information in a timely manner that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations
  • Proactively manage workflow to achieve all company milestones and targets
