Our client is one of NSW most respected construction groups and is committed to its relationships with clients, staff, industry partners and the community.
As a result of ongoing company growth, our client requires an experienced Safety Coordinator to maintain the group's health, safety and environmental procedures, policies, and project systems in line with best practice and the relevant statutory legislation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a highly successful and growing construction business that has a full workbook and delivers exciting and technical projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years' experience as a Safety Coordinator in the commercial construction space and poses the relevant certificates in Safety.
Ideally the candidate will have the ability to work across multiple construction projects.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Providing support to direct employees, subcontractors and management, ensuring that all practice principles are followed
- Provide timely and accurate HSE advice and hands-on support to operations
- liaise with subcontractors to ensure they are adhering to HSE compliance
- Implementing and monitoring HSE Management Systems
- Conduct site inductions & tool box talks
- Ensure all WHS documents are maintained and filed in accordance with the company's filing requirements
- Assist the Site Manager / area Foreman in the management and supervision of subcontractors
- As required, assisting in incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are consistently implemented
- Undertake workplace inspections to identify hazards and unsafe and unhealthy workplace conditions and practices
- Assist the project team in obtaining and auditing subcontractors WHS documentation
As the ideal applicant you will possess
High level knowledge of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) Building Accreditation Scheme and WHS legislative framework
Cert IV OHS - Minimum
Experience in working for a commercial builder
