Our Client is seeking an experienced Operations/Team Leader within their blue collar department for their office based in Cheltenham. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a customer centric and people focused organization.
This is a full time permanent role to commence as soon as possible- standard business hours Monday- Friday 9am-5pm with a competitive salary on offer.
**We are looking for strong rapport building skills and leadership experience. You do not need to have previous blue collar Supervisory experience but you do need to be comfortable leading a blue collar workforce
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the purpose of this role is to develop and lead a high performing team in an environment of operational excellence, delivering a wide range of horticulture works within HSW principles and my clients procedures.
*Specific Functions/Responsibilities
• Contribute to strategic projects as a subject matter expert.
• Work cross-functionally within the leadership team to determine new and optimal ways of working that ensure continuous improvement.
*People & Team Leadership
• Plan, lead, organise and supervise a team of employees to deliver works/tasks assigned to the group, as per operational plans.
• Provide visible leadership to the team and act as their first point of call with any issues they may experience.
• Embed a safety culture through proactive leadership of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing of employees.
• Develop and maintain a high performing team.
• Lead the development of capability and skills of employees, look for opportunities to initiate multiskilling, employee selection and coordination of training, utilisation, performance, employee recognition and retention.
• Effectively communicate and lead employees through change.
• Develop and maintain a positive culture amongst employees, reflecting the organisation's Vision and PRIDE Values.
*Operations Leadership
• Lead the team to deliver horticulture work on time and to meet customer needs.
• Support the development and processes of the scheduling and stakeholder engagement team and actively liaise, collaborate and integrate the functionality into your team’s operations.
• Continually review and monitor procedures and work practices to ensure the highest level of performance and compliance with relevant Acts, legislation and safety standards.
• Work within the allocated budget.
• Provide input into future operational requirements in terms of output, quality and quantity, cost, time available and labour requirements.
• Implement, manage and monitor approved capital works to ensure that costs and quality objectives are met.
• Support the organisation’s sustainability policy by minimising environmental impacts through efficient use of resources.
To be successful in this role you MUST possess the following-
* Previous leadership/team leader experience within a blue collar workforce
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience training and leading others to perform
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• People leadership skills (managing performance, promoting positive morale, resolving people issues) as well as team leadership skills (develop and maintain a high performing team, promote a positive team culture built on collaborative working relationships, resolve team issues)
