Business & Regulatory Compliance Lead

About the role

Help us innovate to meet the challenges of our growing cities by

  • Coordinate and maintain Customer Services' customer compliance systems, including customer complaints processes.
  • Maintain measurement, analysis and reporting processes for Customer Services (including performance indicators for Annual Report, Folios of Progress and customer complaints).
  • Coordinate and contribute to Customer Services' input into regulatory and legislative reviews e.g. Operating Licence and Customer Contract.
  • Identify and recommend changes to business processes in response to changes to regulatory or legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate and provide input into State and Federal benchmarking and best practice initiatives including NWI, WSAA, IPART, and other water utilities seeking improvements in practice and or cross service standardisation in relevant areas (practices, reporting etc).
  • Coordinate and contribute to the implementation of and reporting on the divisional quality assurance process including: cyclical, regulatory and legislation generated review and risk reviews
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including planning, briefing stakeholders on timing and scope, implementation, coordinating relevant paperwork and preparing staff for audit
  • Liaise across the organisation and with external stakeholders on regulatory and legislative matters; act as a key point of reference for other business units and groups for the responsibilities listed above
  • Manage a small team to respond to Ministerial and EWON enquiries

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • 5-10 years business experience in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements and systems and how they apply to Sydney Water
  • Sound understanding and experience with Quality Assurance systems and monitoring
  • Superior Stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
