The Role
 
As the Collections Team Leader you will be responsible for managing, leading and motivating a team of 10-12 Collections Officers that are responsible for managing outbound collections, conducting account reconciliations, managing and resolving complex billing problems for the customers and updating and maintaining records for Tier 1 and 2 corporate customers.  With your fantastic people management skills you will ensure the teams KPI?s are achieved, train new team members, identify development initiatives to enhance the capabilities of the team, manage succession planning for current and future positions and look for opportunities to improve credit processes and procedures to optimize the collection of receivables within our trading terms.  You will also work with sales and other support teams to ensure account and invoice setup best meet the customer?s requirements and identify initiatives to drive performance, reduce operational costs and create competitive advantage.
The Person
 
We are looking for someone that has previous experience managing and motivating a team of Collections Officers to meet their targets and strict deadlines. 
 
You will have:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with proven people management and leadership skills
  • Sound knowledge of collections, reconciliations, risk and dispute management, recovery and insolvency processes
  • Excellence communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills
  • Experience implementing system and process improvement and managing change would be highly regarded.
