We have an opportunity for a Senior Financial Planner to join our Melbourne team. The Senior Financial Planner will be responsible for developing key relationships with our clients, both existing and new. The incumbent will be required to develop, efficient and cohesive relationships with all staff and strive to bring about administrative efficiencies and synergies.
Key responsibilities:
- Generating new business opportunities from existing clients as well as referral sources.
- Participate in the overall management, future direction and conduct of the business.
- Ensure the operation is run efficiently and effectively by having the right support and systems in place.
- Increase Funds Under Management and inflows into Bridges AFSL.
- Review existing clients as scheduled.
- Assist in the design and preparation of financial plans, including client strategies, calculations and modelling in a highly technical nature.
- Be responsible for directing staff to prepare client Statements of Advice, clients reviews and all associated paperwork prepared for clients on behalf of the financial planner.
- Be technically and analytically strong in Taxation, Centrelink, Superannuation, Retirement and Investment Planning with an ability to prepare financial strategies.
- Be responsible keeping up to date with regulatory and legislative issues, compliance guidelines and continuously update your knowledge of software, in-house and external products.
To be successful in this role you will possess
- Preferred Degree qualified including DFP/CFP preferred (minimum DFP qualification.) Preference will go to those who have completed the Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- RG 146 compliant
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook. Xplan experience (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and relationship management approach
- Experience in driving change and contributing to a constructive work culture
- Possess a strong service and compliance orientation
- Results orientated, willing to achieve set objectives and KPI’s both on an individual basis and on a corporate level
- Team player – able to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals
