12 Month Contract (to cover Maternity Leave) - commence mid-August 2018
ASL is an ADI providing specialised wholesale payments services to Member banks. We provide payment related services for our Financial Institution Members and allow them to participate in the various financial sector clearing streams within the Australian market, including the New Payments Platform (Osko), BPAY, DE, PEXA, VISA, RTGS and Visa. ASL's members include major mutual financial institutions
We are looking for an experienced professional who will be responsible for managing all risk and compliance responsibilities for the organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, and the Board Audit and Risk Committees, you will have at least 10 years' experience in the payments industry or financial services sector, and have a solid understanding of APRA Prudential Standards, and modern risk management and compliance methodologies. You will have a friendly, collegiate attitude, and be able to easily build constructive relationships throughout all levels of the organisation.
In this role you will:
- Support the CEO, Board, the Risk and Audit Committees and Executive Managers in matters related to risk and compliance;
- Prepare and deliver Risk reports for the Board and Board Committees as appropriate to the position;
- Work with the CEO, CFO and all members of the Executive team to ensure that all compliance requirements and controls are in place, operational and effective;
- Maintain the ASL Risk & Compliance Information Management System;
- Maintain and apply a comprehensive compliance assurance program;
- Assist the CEO and Board develop risk and compliance policies;
- Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate internal processes to ensure that the Board of Directors, management and employees remain compliant with relevant prudential standards, rules, guidelines, legislation and regulations;
- Keep abreast, and inform all levels throughout the company, of legislative change.
- Oversee the integration of awareness and management of risk and compliance into business planning, activities and processes;
- Develop and deliver regular risk management and compliance training sessions to all staff;
- Form part of an integrated management team focussed on achieving key targets; and
- Undertake any other duties that reasonably fall within the general purview of a Chief Risk Officer.
