About WATC:
Western Australian Treasury Corporation (WATC) is the central financial services provider for the Western Australian public sector. WATC’s principal activities include funding and debt management, asset and investment management, financial advisory services, financial risk management and treasury management services and systems. WATC’s activities enable the State to finance significant projects such as the recent Perth Stadium and Elizabeth Quay.
About The Role:
The Risk Management Branch measures and monitors market, credit and operational risk to prevent adverse outcomes for WATC, and provides advice to the Executive and Board on all risk matters.
Working in a small team, this position includes responsibility in credit, market, operational, and liquidity risk. The role contributes to day-to-day risk management activities including the analysis, monitoring, and reporting of risk, as well as assisting with the provision of advice relating to risk management throughout WATC.
This role is suited to someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for risk management.
This position is a short term contract opportunity, with possibility of extension.
About You:
WATC is seeking an individual with a combination of the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- tertiary qualifications in finance, or a related discipline;
- some experience in a financial markets or risk management environment;
- good Excel modelling skills;
- good analytical, research and reporting skills;
- strong interpersonal and communication skills; and
- a flexible, ‘can-do’ attitude to work.
