The Role
Due to growth in the region we are now seeking to bring on a Senior Relationship Manager to join our highly successful Ballarat team.
The Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) in Westpac Commercial Banking is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of medium to large size business connections with average turnover between $5-100 million per annum, with a particular focus on winning new to bank customers.
The SRM acts as a trusted advisor to drive sustainable business growth over time and sources new clients through your self-generated and Westpac-developed marketing initiatives by establishing and maintaining a quality referral network. A critical part of the SRM role will be actively referring customers to appropriate segments in order to ensure the needs of the customer and Westpac are consistently met.
The SRM works collaboratively with a network of specialists in areas such as wealth, financial markets, cash flow and transactional banking.
Some key accountabilities of the role include, however are not limited to;
- Initiating & facilitating outstanding interactions with existing and prospective customers;
- Maintaining existing exposures and ongoing lending and credit requirements (periodic risk reviews);
- Focus on winning new to bank customers;
- Maximising opportunities to earn all of our customers’ business, including lending, deposits, transactional banking solutions, investments and protection; and
- Developing and growing deep industry expertise and referral networks.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Proven Relationship Management experience demonstrating how you have grown & developed a portfolio of accounts;
- A passion for delivering outstanding customer service;
- Strong credit skills, including cashflow lending;
- Proven track record in Business Development and acquiring new to bank business;
- Well established network of referral sources;
- Proven balance sheet analysis and deal structuring (Commercial / Corporate deals)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications would be preferred
