Reporting to the Senior Credit Manager, the main role of the Credit Analyst is to process, assess and make a credit decisions (either approve or decline) on finance for home energy improvements, such as solar, batteries and more.

Duties:

• Assessment of SME credit applications with delegated underwriting authority in accordance with Company policies and commercial risk environment;
• Make assessment on overall health of SME business applications including review of business financials, leadership, market conditions etc in order to make effective risk assessments;
• Reviewing bank statements and credit reports;
• Managing all aspects of the credit underwriting process within delegated lending authority – including verifying application data, reviewing accountant prepared financials as well as internally prepared management reports, tax returns, analysing credit reports and researching business;
• Assess and review the credit and fraud risk of vendors applying for accreditation;
• Ensure applications are compliant;

Essential skills and experience:

• 3 years plus experience in business lending either in a bank or leading retail financial institution;
• Proven experience as a collaborative, solutions based credit underwriter who can work effectively with sales and key stakeholder engagement skills.
• Exposure to stages of the credit approval process including customer engagement;
• lending delegation experience of more than two years;
• Understanding of relevant regulatory legislation under the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act (2001) (ASIC Act), Competition and Consumer Act, The Anti-Money Laundering, and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act and Privacy Act; and
• Strong Computer skills.
