Senior Analyst - Banking

A leading Australian bank is seeking a Senior Analyst for a contract position. This role will be based in Sydney.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Senior Manager and Manager to meet management reporting requirements
• Build strong working relationships with the Business stakeholders
• Monitor and report the Performance & Forecasting of the business. 
• Ensure the integrity of the monthly financial results and raise management accounting journals as necessary
• Check results, run queries and identify anomalies within the General Ledger
• Produce timely, accurate and insightful monthly management reports that clearly align financial performance results against targets and forecast
• Analyse and verify actual performance against plan & forecasts and investigate variances
• Resolve issues identified from any reviews
• Actively challenge the business assumptions used for forecasting to ensure the robustness of the forecast process and outcomes
• Assist in developing financial models and business cases

Requirements:

• CA/CPA Qualified
• 3-4 years’ experience in a finance and accounting environment, ideally in superannuation or wealth management (must have a financial services background)
• Demonstrated background in working with others to achieve outcomes
• In-depth knowledge of reporting & operational processes
• Knowledge of modelling skills
• Highly developed analytical skills
