About the role
This newly created role reports into the Enterprise Risk leadership team at AMP. This role requires a high level of senior stakeholder management as an effective "second line of defence". This role is part of our Enterprise Risk Advice team that enable AMP to make informed decisions, considering the risks involved in making those decisions, and to encourage risk taking within boundaries to achieve sustainable and profitable growth. The role has a very broad scope, as there are a very high amount of critical projects underway in Advice currently.
Duties include:
- Support the identification, measurement, monitoring and optimisation of both ‘delivery risks’ and ‘delivered risks’ in the project / change life cycle
- Support project managers and change owners / professionals in the delivery of appropriate risk response plans; i.e. risk acceptance, risk reduction, risk transfer or risk avoidance
- Development and maintenance of a risk in change register to support functional and business cycle risk and control self-assessment processes and risk profiling
- Enterprise Risk subject matter expertise
- Assist business leaders in the delivery of strategic plans/objectives and risk project
Skills & experience
Ideally, we are looking for candidates with:
- A proven track record in a risk management, compliance, internal / external audit or assurance role, with experience in financial services an advantage
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, relevant regulators (e.g. ASIC and APRA), and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements
- Proven ability to understand operational and compliance risks inherent or emerging in a business area, to assess the level of risk, and to develop and execute plans to mitigate risk
- Experience in leading and developing people to deliver on operational goals, and a track record in maintaining a high performing team
- Degree in Law, Business, Commerce, Finance or equivalent, ideally with a post graduate qualification
- Expert knowledge of financial services risk and key regulations
