THE POSITION

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to join our fast paced and dynamic Finance team and spearhead Retail reporting and analytics for the business. The role of the Commercial Analyst - Retail is to ultimately champion and provide high quality financial reporting and analysis to a number of key areas of the business. You will work closely with department stakeholders to provide key financial insights and influence commercial outcomes that will maximise company returns.

In this role, you’ll hit the ground running by providing key information and analysis to the business. Responsibilities include:

• Be the commercial lead in retail projects and continuously drive improvement and process optimisation for reporting and analytics
• Prepare store sales reports for distribution and be financial mentor and expert for any queries and education require
• Prepare P&L and forecasts for Store sales, wages and consumable costs
• Work with the Head of Retail and National Sales Manager to prepare store targets for distribution
• Compile KPI’s statistics and provide narrative for inclusion on monthly commentary where required
• Present monthly financial information to the key team members highlighting key information and opportunities for improvement
• Work closely with the Property Commercial Analyst and review store performance as they progress through different life stages - new, emerging, established for cost areas of responsibility
• Develop base line assumptions in consultation with the Head of Finance and Department Heads
• Construct models and reporting tools for the inclusion in the overall company targets and forecasts for areas of responsibility
• Review proposals and business cases relating to the procurement of store capital items that arise from the retail team

• Has a degree in a relevant field (Accounting or similar)
• 5+ years of analytical experience (preferably in Retail)
• An advanced understanding of analytics and financial reporting
• Is highly competent in SQL, TM1 and Data mining capabilities
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Particularly with excel)
• Is solution focused with a strong ‘can do’ attitude
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong communication and presentation skills
• A team player that can also work independently, focusing on panning and prioritising based the shift of business and leadership needs
• Can roll their sleeves up with a ‘hands on’ approach to support the business needs
